New counselling service
A new Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre has been set up in Maynooth by Counselling Psychotherapists Antonia Colom and Evanna Lyons.
Evanna and Antonia trained in the well-known Tivoli Institute in Dun Laoghaire. Their work incorporates many styles of counselling including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, Bodywork and Psychoanalytical Therapy; and they offer both long-term and short-term counselling.
Their professionalism, warmth and enthusiasm is reflected in their centre, which is above Donatello’s restaurant off Maynooth main street. They have created a bright, warm and calm space where clients can feel comfortable and safe where they will discuss often very difficult emotional issues.
Their approach is both positive and practical. The main objective of their style of counselling is to enable clients to find their own resources of empowerment and support. The client’s issues are explored in-depth, but always at the client’s pace. By doing this, the client can become aware of negative patterns or buried pain, and are better able to let go of these in a supported and confidential way. This, they feel, is what brings about healing and change.
Both therapists feel it is crucial to work holistically and in their sessions they encourage their clients to look at all the aspects of their life such as relationships, health, work, lifestyle, nutrition, interests, spirituality, etc.
The centre has flexible opening hours and on-street parking. If you leave a message, either Evanna or Antonia will return the call themselves to speak with you or to arrange a free consultation.
